The beginning line of each verse is "You were tired", not "there were times".

I believe the correct lyric in "I've Been Loving You To Long" is "as you become a habit to me" not "as you become a haven to me". The word "haven" is pronounced with a long A, not a short A, which is what would be required for the lyric to be "haven". And Otis is singing a short A as in "habit", it's just not clearly pronounced in the recording.
