I would just like to take the time to post this comment because I am wanting to have my ex-girlfriend to see this. We really had something, and then it got really F****D UP after she heard a rumor that I was cheating on her. I went to a different school than her, and we were all fine until she heard the rumor.
I just want her to realize what she is missing, because I am having a great time in life now that she is gone. I have learned to keep away from her, because I have gone back to her so many times it's not even funny. So I would like for her to try and come crawling 'back to me'. But she doesn't know that what comes around... goes around.
John Mayer just puts all of his songs and his lyrics in a way that I think all his fans can understand. The whole relationship thing is described so well in many other songs that he has written.
John Mayer has changed my perspective in life, and now I look at it a whole different way. Instead of trying to crawl back to the same person all the time, have fun, and go for someone else. Unless the girl that you used to go out with is good for you.
So now, I am single. Trying to find a girl who is into John Mayer as good as I am. I have learned to play most of his songs, and I have to owe that to my brother. If it wasn't for him... I would've never known who John Mayer was. And the same goes for my best friend. If it wasn't for John Mayer, we would be two of the biggest "wiggers" that ya'll have probably ever seen.
But until the next time that I am moved by another one of John Mayer's songs, I guess I'll talk to ya'll later. Just take it easy, and listen to what John has to say.

I go back to a girl...one girl...always her. This song really decribes that. We had something. At least that's what she told me. Well now we don't so I keep on going back to her. Back to her... there's not much I can do about it. She knows I love her. She doesn't want to do anything though...she doesn't want hurt as much as I hurt her...to care as much as I care for her...to love as much as I love her... She'll never know she's on my mind all the time. Everything I see goes back to her. Back to her... So maybe by some off chance she will realize that we are perfect for each other. I know everything about her and she knows everything about me. I need her. I want her. I want her back. I just pains me to see her with another boyfriend. Yet Don't we all continue life with just another plastic smile painted on our face? Well that's just gonna have to do for noe...maybe she will come back to me...back to me...

I agree that this is about a relationship that hasnt happened...Yet..
however I believe based on what he says at the end about how it kinda goes two ways...In my life I've been after this girl who was always my best friend since childhood. We always have our little flings where someway somehow our paths cross...its always me never giving up...and its her when she needs someones unconditional love and devotion...but what i mean is at the end of this song he says "back to me, doesnt it scare you...you're will is not as strong as it used to be. Which I believe he is saying "i get closer every time we come back to eachother...and your devotion to keeping me as just a friend is slowly withering away. Thats exactly my situation. Great song

This song talks about unconditional love, or unreturned love. Often times people think the worst of this. But have yet to look at it in another person's prespective.
I've been stuck with the same "love" for 3 years. We were best friends and then i liked her, and now were not even that close anymore. It seemed she'd always avoid me, and i hated her for it. Then at the worst of times, my friend showed me this in her prespective.
To her she has an awesome friend, and thats it. And she's been avoiding me so she doens't lead me on, so she doenst break my heart cause to her there is nothing there. And there i was calling her a bitch, even though she was tryign to help me out more than herself...think about that one

I love this song, I really didnt use to like John Mayer that well, but my brother downloaded this song on my computer and I'm like "I love that guy" It reminds me of my ex and how i still care about him, but how I really want to be with the person I'm with now. Many people can relate to this song also. Theres almost always a person that we end up finding ourselves going back to time and time again. John Clayton Mayer is a wonderful performer/song writer/guitar player. He's very smart and isn't afraid to speak the truth. I love him.
