Plenty of other artists have come out and tried to play like Hendrix, or had the way he played come out in their playing. Artists such as Clapton (listen for Hendrix influences in the chorus riffs in Layla), Pearl Jam with their vitality and sound, Zappa, and even, damn it, Thin Lizzy were influenced massively by this man. He played music that had never been played before; the sounds he got from his guitar were amazing.

Yeah Yeah...I'll probably get a lot of shit for this, but personally, I think Hendrix was WAY overrated! Anytime I hear any of his music, it just sounds like I'm listening to a bunch of guys playing loud music in a garage or something..And before you start cussing me out and reminding me how Jimi's music influenced SOOOO many other musicians, then tell me why no one else has any music out there that sounds like Hendrix' crap!! For my money, give me The Moody Blues, The Stones, Steely Dan, and Led Zeppelin ANY FRIKKIN DAY!! Hendrix??--OVERRATED!!...Anybody else agree??
