Now to the song: Avril's sentiments are well-intentioned, meaning I wish everyone stood up like that. Unfortunately that isn't the case.
And when she writes, "There's nothing you can say, nothing you can do" well, what comes to mind is "That would change if she ever found out about you and I". (Run To You, Brian Adams, 1984)
Sorry, but what she said isn't realistic to me.
Although, I wish it COULD be like that. But that's merely wishful thinking, aka dreaming. Because that's how things are in our world.
