Rammstein did an english cover of the song. It is
"You
You hate
You Hate me
You
You Hate
You hate me
You
You Hate
You hate me
You
You Hate
You hate me
You
You Hate
You hate me
You Hate me
You hate me to say
You hate me to say
You hate me to say and i did not obey"
but that doesnt make sense since they sing
"du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nicht gesagt"

"Die übersetzung is falsch na ja checkt ihr eh alle nicht loooooool"/quote -Sic
If the spelling of the lyrics above is how they're actually supposed to be spelled, then Sic here is right.
"Du hast" would be 'you have' (ifinitive: haben). While "Du hasst" is 'you hate' (ifinitive: hassen).
And when you think about it, 'you have' does fit with the song, it just sounds awkward in English.
Also, the line "Du hast mich gefragt" is 'you asked me'. For past tense verbs (this is simple past, I believe), you have the verb's past tense (In this case, gefragt (infinitive: fragen)) at the very end of the sentence. However, the verb is usually the second in the sentence (or right after the subject), so an auxilliary is used. Here, because fragen is not a change in state, movement, or condition, the auxilliary used is "haben". So it ends up conjugated as "hast" for du. Once again 'You asked me'.
This also makes more sense with the next line "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt" which is, literally, 'You asked me and I have not said'. Makes more sense, though, as 'You asked me and I said nothing'.
Anyway, I don't know who or how this was translated originally, but if there are any native German speakers who wouldn't mind translating these lyrics, that would be awesome.
Keep on listening,
Re-McKAT

QUOTE: ok. sparky543. i have one thing to say, you dont know shit. this is the correct translation and if you dont believe me you can even find the video in english on youtube.com
btw, this song rox and i love it! /QUOTE.
Actually, the translation is "You Have". The English version of 'Du hast' is sung as 'You hate' to appeal to an english speaking audience. If you say 'You hate' you will need to say 'Du hasst'. The infinitive form of hate is hassen and the infinitive form of have is haben. Haben is an irregular verb, so when it's conjugated into the you/du form, it's hast.

Jesus man, you seriously made me laugh. Go stick a cucumber up your ass and then try singing this song. Seriously, I would pay money to see that.
Please go kill yourself right now. You are dumber than a bird that keeps smashing into the same window over and over again.
Oh, and Rammstein rocks.

Let's end this arguement about the english translation right now.
Rammstein has release the english version of du hast, in fact I am listening to it right now.
It is in fact "you, you hate, you hate me".
Rock on.

If you MUST argue about the translation, then I guess I have to be the one to go use Babelfish and prove the lot of you wrong.
Now, getting over that...
I actually got my version off of the soundtrack to The Matrix. Interesting choice of song for that movie...it was played over the ending credits.

It's very simple: The whole song is based on puns. The lyrics says "du hast" = "you have". But Till pronounce it "du hasst" = "you hate" to give it a double meaning. Check out herzeleid.com for lyrics and a better explanation :$
Anyway it's a damn good song :)
