I love this demo. This demo is almost the same as the one on "Fallen," but in the demo the notes, at the beginning, are quiter, and theres some sound effects. Other than that it's bascilly the same as "Fallen."

This is the greatest song ever made. Its soothing in ways, and its reminds me of my grandma.
And might i say, its a real challenge to sing! the parts where Amy's voice goes so high, its amazing how she can do that, i am almost able to.
I have been practicing for monthS!

i love this song too bad they dont sing it live.
the songs about when amy was a little girls she found out her little sister died.
i had many family members die when i was young so i know how it feels drying to deal with and understand death at a young age.
I can agree with you. Alot of my family died when i was young too. And the reson why they don't do this song live is because they (Amy, John, Will, Rocky, Ben (no longer in the band), and Maybe terry) don't want her to start crying in front of her fans and not be able to go on with the show. and in my opinion i think she feels that this song ina person song Like "You".

Actually, I don't think any of you are right. This is a quote from April's issue of Blender magazine, and it's an interview with Amy Lee herself:
First came Amy, then a little sister. Amy adored her. In 1987, when Amy was 6, her sister contracted an illness and died at age 3. Even now, Lee says, doctors have been unable to explain exactly what occured.
"When that happened, my whole perception of life changed," Lee says. "It sounds stupid, but that was when I became a musician. The music is my attempt to heal myself. Things like that can destroy you, or you can get through it."
Lee's gray-blue eyes fill with tears. Her voice wobbels. The kids at the table stop slurping their drinks. She says she wont reveal her sisters name, because it would be too weird to see it in print. It would upset her mother, she says, and -you never know- fans might try to find her grave. But listen to the song "HELLO" on Fallen, and you feel greif.
"My sister's death taught me how short life can be, and it has driven me to achieve things." Lee say's, "I have a list of 50 things I want to achieve. Not necessarily in entertainment, just personal goals. Life's fragility drives me on."
And yes, this is from UDL05E, whose original response was on "Hello (Fallen Version)". So, yeah. I hope that clears things up.

I'm not really sure, actually. I don't think the Lee family has told anyone how she died, but I know she had stopped breathing and suffocated to death... at least that's what one of my friends tells me, and he knows everything about this band. Perhaps it would be better if we don't know *shrug* It's a personal and tragic circumstance and Amy probably would rather not discuss it.

A few years ago one of my friends introduced me to this band, and the music in most of the songs just made my cry, especially the ballads like this one. I've been a huge fan ever since, especially since my boyfriend is obsessed with Evanescence. When I first heard this song it was introduced to me by a really good friend of mine, since at the time I had no CDs of theirs and had nothing to download music with. Of course I'm sitting on the phone, crying my eyes out, because Amy puts so much emotion and rememberance of her loss into her voice. I don't understand how someone can listen to this song and NOT be overcome with sorrow. I've never lost a loved one in my life, but this just reveals to me the horrors of it. Waking up every day wishing it weren't true.
My boyfriend told me that her little sister had passed away on the playground, hence the setting of the song, and I'm really very sorry that it happened, reading that interview a few posts ago really depressed me.
Oh, and in reply to The Black Fox, I'm overjoyed to know that you came through your depression. I'm in a huge depressing rut right now in my life too, and I know how you felt. I tried to overdose on pills. Even though I obviously don't know you, I'm proud of you, good for you! It's such a difficult thing to fix, but I'm happy that you managed ^_^
