Run Like Hell Lyrics
Send "Run Like Hell" Ringtone to your Cell
"Pink Floyd Pink Floyd"
Run Run Run Run Run Run Run Run
Run Run Run Run Run Run Run Run.
You better make your face up in
Your favorite disguise.
With your button down lips and your
Roller blind eyes.
With your empty smile
And your hungry heart.
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past.
With your nerves in tatters
When the conchshell shatters
And the hammers batter
Down the door.
You'd better run.
Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run,
Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run, Run.
You better sleep all day
And run all night.
Keep your dirty feelings
Deep inside.
And if you're taking your girlfriend
Out tonight
You'd better park the car
Well out of sight.
Cause if they catch you in the back seat
Trying to pick her locks,
They're gonna send you back to mother
In a cardboard box.
You better run.
"Hey, open up! HaHaHaHaHaaaaaaaaaa!
[sound of car skidding, followed by loud scream]
"Hammer, Hammer"

Bruce Willis, (the guy who posted before me) I completely agree. The beginning of the song always reminded me of a car starting! I thought I was the only one who thought that. It's a cool way to start the song. I rmember when 'The Wall' came out and I was trying to turn my friend on to how good it was. I was in high school and my basketball team was traveling to another school for a game. On the bus I had my 'boombox' with the cassette of 'The Wall' inside. I handed my friend a pair of headphones and said, "Here, put these on and listen to this really cool song. It totally rocks." He said "sure" and gave it a listen. He was blown away and said, 'Who is this???" He was converted!!
It is my favorite song my Pink Floyd. Cool guitars, cool thumping bass, the crowd noise, the little drum roll at the end, the screaching car, the scream.......WOW! It still pumps me up when I hear it on the radio!

childhood romance??! urges high school kids get??! wat the fuk is all that about? ur obviously not too familiar with pink floyd lyrics are you kimberley.. watch the film or listen to the whole album, it will put things into perspective... as a couple of ppl on this list already described its about him trying to run away from his guilt and his regrets, there is no romance in this album, try the spice girls or summit if u want teeny songs or romance

I just wanna say I love this song. I always thought "conchshell" was "cold chill." It almost makes more sense that way. Anyway, I'm not putting the song down. I love this song. The movie version could be better. I laughed when I saw all the Neo-Nazis (real skinheads, in case you didn't know) doing their Heil Hitler two-step. Funny stuff.
There is no pain, you are receding...

Rocksnikki is absolutely right. This song is about running from society. And it goes hand in hand with the theme of the movie, "The Wall".
It's his own thoughts, gleaned from years of people telling him what's right and wrong. And now he's feeling guilty about things he's done in his life, and trying to run and hide.
"Keep your dirty feelings deep inside.
If you're taking your girlfriend out tonight
You better park the car way out of sight
Cuz if they catch you in the backseat trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to mother in a cardboard box, you better RUN!"
That's years of guilt pressing in on him in his mind.

the album is about a mans slow decent into madness... i get the feeling that this song is about him running away from society, and hiding behind the 'wall.'

From the lyrics, I get the feelings that they are talking about childhood romance and the urges that high school kids get and they can not control these new and sometimes overwhelming feelings.

"if they catch you in the back seat trying to pick her locks" ; you can read this several ways ; innocently smoothing her hair or pick her lock using your key. Pink Floyd always a first for lyrical imagery.

I'm not sure what this song is about. Can anyone enlighten me? It is a cool song and like the laughter in this one, and the tires skidding.

No comments? OK, I'll get the ball rolling. This is a great song, both on its own but especially in the context of the album. One of the few songs of "The Wall" that can be played on its own.
