Rebellion (Lies) Lyrics
Send "Rebellion (Lies)" Ringtone to your Cell
sleeping is giving in, no matter what the time is. sleeping is giving
in, so lift those heavy eyelids.
people say that you'll die faster than without water. but we know it's
just a lie, scare your son and scare your daughter.
people say that your dreams are the only things that save ya.
come on baby in our dreams, we can live our misbehaviour.
everytime you close your eyes lies, lies!
people try and hide the night underneath the covers.
people try and hide the light underneath the covers.
come on hide your lovers underneath the covers.
come on hide your lovers underneath the covers.
hidin' from your brothers underneath the covers, come on hide your
lovers underneath the covers.
people say that you'll die faster than without water, but we know it's
just a lie, scare your son, scare your daughter
now here's the sun, it's alright! now here's the moon, it's alright!
now here's the sun, it's alright! now here's the moon, it's alright!
but everytime you close your eyes, lies!

Im currently living in Florida (U.S.) and unfortunately, Arcade Fire is not very popular here. Most of the songs playing dont even compare to the lyrics of Arcade Fire, so i find it a real shame that the radios are blasting idiotic and materialistic songs, instead of genuine music. So far no one i have ran into knows Arcade Fire, except my brother.

I was first introduced to this song when I heard Jon Foreman do a cover of it at an Invisible Children benefit concert. I promptly went to iTunes and bought it, and have been in love with it ever since. It has a melancholy, almost eerie, yet beautiful sound that i just love.
quality stuff.

the "everytime you close your eyes" at the end combined with all the instruments is just terribly moving. it's hard to describe the affinity one can have with the song. if anything, that's what possessed me.

No one I've met yet knows about the Arcade Fire, which is a bloody shame if you ask me. ;_; Some good stuff comes outta Canada (don't hurt me, I'm Canadian. xD ) but the Arcade Fire are the best I've heard in years. They should get more airplay, though.

I am from the US and I would have to say Arcade Fire is not huge here...but its spreading, so much so that someone recognized it when I was whistling one of the songs. Its like a musical orgasm, it rocks and will become huge.

oh come on, you know i was just kidding about the Canada joke, the US is extremely materialistic and its music is mostly crap. And i do really like Canadian music (aqualung is from canada, isn't it?), i would rather listen to anything other than the crap on American raido
P.S. Plz tell me a few other bands like arcade fire, their music is great, and this seems like just the place to discover great music

So it sounds a little like U2 but is that bad? Au contraire. One of the most addictive songs I've heard in ages. And from Mtl you say... Trippin'.

Well, I'm from Canada, and The Arcade Fire is pretty big over here. Rebellion(Lies) came out about 2 weeks before the MMVA's(Much Music Video Awards, Canada's MTV) and they booked them on that such short time.
