So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright Lyrics

So long, Frank Lloyd Wright.
I can't believe your song is gone so soon.
I barely learned the tune
So soon
So soon.
I'll remember Frank Lloyd Wright.
All of the nights we'd harmonize till dawn.
I never laughed so long
So long
So long.
CHORUS
Architects may come and
Architects may go and
Never change your point of view.
When I run dry
I stop awhile and think of you
So long, Frank Lloyd Wright
All of the nights we'd harmonize till dawn.
I never laughed so long
So long
So long.

You're completely correct, grand_master_b...this is supported in both of the S&G biographies I've read.

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the greatest and most influential architects of the 20th Century. I love his work, as I love this song. This song was written in 1969, 10 years after FLW died just before his last major building, the Solomon R. Guggenhiem Museum in New York, was opened.
So how does Wright relate to this song? 'So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright' was on S&G's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' album - their last studio album together - and I've read that Paul Simon, noticing the signs that the duo were going to separate, wrote this song using Wright as a metaphor for Art Garfunkel, who was an architecture major at college. Of course, this could be wrong - don't let this put you off.

any one know who frank lloyd wright even was? i think, from context, he was a friend of theirs, or something like that, but that's really obvious and says nothing about him...
