ok now lets get this straight.... yes george was a good guitarist and so was hendrix. but ultimately Clapton is god, and we can't forget the basically younger versions of him as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. they are the top 3 in my opinion spots 4 and five would go to page and young.

Leave The Guru alone, it is his opinion. Now George isn't the greatest guitarist in MY opinion. In MY opinion, Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist for the fact that he could play entire songs by striking one cord. Thats just plain amazing. But... THE BEATLES ARE THE BEST BAND EVER!! :D

The Beatles WERE Lennon and McCartney, but isn't it ironic that when they did let George have a stab at it he proved he could write even better than they could. George wrote this and he also wrote SOMETHING. Now if they let him do more we could even have more songs like these labeled the Beatles, but they probably knew it and were jealous...so they break up and poof MY SWEET LORD! See, told ya! I wonder if they would have left out Glass Onion, Rocky Racoon and other catchy crappy diddies etc...I wonder what George could have put in thier place.

regardless, all i was commenting on was the fact that you basically said the guru had no taste because he called george harrison one of the greatest guitar players of all time - something that is more or less universally accepted. yes, people will always quibble over who was better, but to completely dismiss george harrison is pretty "narrow-minded" on your part as well :)

actually groover, if you knew what you were talking about you'd know that jimi hendrix was a HUGE beatles fan and actually impressed paul mccartney by playing "sgt peppers" only 4 days after the album had been released! jimi himself would play tribute to george harrison...who was hardly limited to playing "the same few chords".
