Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
Hello lamppost,
What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,
Feelin' groovy.
Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.
This song was my anthym in 1989 when I ran my one & only marathon. Lots of long lonley runs with my headset on. When I was reaching out beyond my known limits and peaking at 20+ miles in practice runs, I had this song to put me in the right frame of mind. It really worked!
Lol...how strung out were the guys when they wrote this? If anyone should be allowed to do drugs though, it should be musicians. They write the best fluffy songs, like this one, when they're high, and the best angsty sad depressing songs when they're drunk. WHOA yeah baby.
