Everyone prepare for the revolution, it is coming. There will be a civil war in America followed by a world war. Start preparing now, make your bunkers, get your weapons and your own divisions of civilians and resist at all costs.

O.K. First let me say, this song is a play on words. The Whole song is a play on German wedding vows. While the phrase " Du Hast" is "To have" in German, in the translation the band is adding an extra s to the word Hast, changing it from: Hast=Have, to Hasst=Hate. The German launguage is very complex. Now, i only download music from itunes, or buy the cd, so the version i have goes like this:
You
You hate
You hate me
You
You hate
You hate me
You
You hate
You hate me
You
You hate
You hate me
You hate me
You hate me to say
You hate me to say
You hate me to say,
and i did not obey.
Will you untill death does sever
be upright to her forever?
No....NEVER!
No....NEVER!
Will you untill death does sever,
be upright to her forever?
No....NEVER!
NO....NEVER!
Then, it is sung in German as: Du hast, not Du hasst.
The Reason behind my posting this, is because, i'm sure there are others out there, that love to sing! And you just have to sing the right words...RIGHT?
Do not believe what others are telling you, there is NO official translation, i did this on studying the German launguage, because i am German American, and my Great-Grandfather was born in Germany, and moved to Franconia, NH with 7 other German men, all with the last names: Schoff, Chofch, Schoch, and Schouf.

i want to start off by saying that i am a rammstein fan from ireland. the first time i heard this song was on the soundtrack for The Matrix. to be honest, i could'nt care less about the translation of the song as it is realy ment to be sung in german. it is a damn fine song as it is.

if anyone still reads these i just want to say that im not trying to argue with anybody.. im just sayin what i know. its a song.. enjoy it.. interprate it how you wish, thats what music is about. if you wish to know the lyrics then rammstein, however wrote the song as 'you hate'if you dont believe me then i suggest getting limewire and downloading 'Du Hast the english version - rammstein' see for yourself and that should stop the urge to call random girls who know what they are talking about 'stupid sluts..' .id also like to make a mention that none of my relatives are french fudge packers.

No, It means You Ask. I know, because I checked myself, asked my german teacher, and a german friend. Hassen or Hassten(forgot how its spelled) would be hate.

why the hell does is matter what the song is in english? its a german song and should be listened to in german, fuck the english version. plus there are so many more rammstein songs better than this and just because its the only REALLY popular one dosnt mean its the best. alana even IF you knew anyone from the band which i doubt they were probably playing a joke on you because you are so ugly.

I really don't give a crap what you guys are rambling on about. You shouldn't take these freaking things so seriously. God. I love this song, and it could mean "I want to l-l-lick you from your head to your toes" ( though, that song is lame) and I wouldn't give a crap.

Alana said that what she wrote was what the song meant in German...I've heard the song millions of times lol I love Rammstein...But she is wrong...They switched the words around to make it fit the tune because German and English are two VERY different languages...

I've heard this song sung in English, and Alana is right. It may be spelt differently in German, but they sang the song in English, and the Lyrics to it are exactly what Alana said.

Hey Alana,
You are a complete and total moron, you probably don't have any German ancestry at all. Ask anyone who is truely German the lyrics to this song. Why do you think the English words fit the tune so well? Because they changed the words to fit the tune. There would be no way that the German and English language can both fit the exact same tune and mean the same thing. So take your Grandpa's lying fake German bullshit and shove it up your ass. He doesn't know Christoph or any of them. He's full of shit. Got it, bitch? Seui Mein Weiner Snitzel (suck my sausage)
