The End Lyrics
Send "The End" Ringtone to your Cell
Oh yeah, all right
Are you going to be in my dreams
Tonight?
.
.
.
.
.
And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make.

you know whats actually interesting...
there is a book out there written by peter brown, who worked with the beatles, and steven gaines, which is purposly titled "the love you make." a small excerpt out of the book will explain to you the meaning of the title.
'...interviews Paul McCartney and asks him if it's really true that "The love you take/Is equal to the love you make." "Yes Chris, in my experience it is," McCartney responds... It is an awesome idea, and one that turned out to be the Beatles' epitaph. It can seem glib, as easy a formulation as it is a rhyme. But there is an unsettling element of challenge in it, one that is difficult to face if you are truley honest with yourself. Have you ever really been so generous and goodhearted a person that you would be pleased to get in return only as much love as you freely give? This... is a story that is inside all of us."
it's basically describing how there is a much darker side to the beatles, how they we're, in a way, eating themselves from the inside out.
it's a wonderful book, not too too long, and it has so much random information and inside stuff in it considering it's written by someone who worked with Brian Epstein. it's great if you want a view of the inside.
rachel.

Very powerful lyrics. The Beatles are the only band whose lyrics actually mean something to me. With other bands, I listen for the music, and usually disregard the lyrics. However, the Beatles' lyrics are catchy and compelling.

No one will ever touch The Beatles, they are truly amazing, even with this short song they inspire millions to write, play and listen to music. John Lennon was a genius, people have accused him of being a cynic but how can a cynic produce such beautiful lyrics, as 'in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make'?
