I remember hearing this song forever ago, liking it, and then never hearing it again. Until I got on my cousin's PC and found it in his media player. Yeah, that was a million months ago. Then, just recently, I was looking for music videos of songs that I knew i liked from forever ago. And I remembered seeing the video to this song on the animated edition of F-List. I found the video. I fell in love with the song for a second time. It was, like, nostalgic. w00t for Modest Mouse.

People are usually angered when underground bands get big for various reasons. They either:

1: Feel that the band strives more for money rather than for actual development

2: Believe that one of the band members will soon die (take the case of AC/DC's rise to fame, where the singer got overly drunk, then drowned in his own puke)

3: Just believe the music grows lackluster

It's rather petty to hate a band though, so just enjoy it =)

Some people are mad because Modest Mouse became popular because of this song. I just don't know why... I heard it on the radio fell in love with it I bought the CD and love ALL the songs, and I'm gonna buy Moon & Antartica soon too.

iv'e been to 4 modest mouse concerts and if you havent gon, go! this song was so cool in concert! If this is the only song you listen to by modest mouse your missing out on good music.

modest mouse creates some of the best original lyrics i know...you have to really think about them and you feel the same way about it....they deserve a grammy or something beuase ppl need to realize the greatness of their lyrics and music..

for people who dont get the video. The girl in the video is little bo peep, or whoever, who lost her sheep. In the nursery ryme it was a devastation to her. She thought she would never be able to go on with life. Her sheep finally came back and the bad was turned to good. think of it as i hit a cop car the other day but the police officer jsut drove off. As people if we were to hit a cop car we would fucking panic of thats how we animals (humans) are. Now if the cop car drove away then we would be like we are some lucky mother fuckers and stroll away with a smile on our face. if you compare these lyrics to little bo peep there is a lot of similarities between the 2 stories. In order to get the video you have to think you have to think about little bo peep and compare the 2. its right in front of our faces but the majority of people miss it. They miss the meaning between everything. Hell we all do. But this is for those who dont understand the video lol.

this song is about how all these bad thing can happen to us through out our life. We just have to live life to its fullest and no that something good will happen. We as people, sometimes think that when something bad happens (like "hitting a cop car the other day")everything automatically is going to hell. Modest Mouse is trying to say that you cant have good with out bad. There are just as many good things that happen to us as bad things. Since bad = negative it hits a lot stronger and harder that it seems to stay with us, it seems to linger on. In reality the good is the same way but it usually doesnt have as much of an impact. It seems like it is there and is gone in one second. We just need to remember that there are just as much good things happening to us bad. In the end everything will turn out ok. People who hate this song make sure you know what it is about before you start to say how gay it is.

This song totally kicks ass. It does start to grow on you, and gradually I came to love it. My sister loves it too, but there are a few inside jokes to that one. Anyways, Go Modest Mouse! Keep up the good work!

Try to avoid making value judgments on people based solely on their choice in songs or artists. I speak from both sides of this experience. Let's just everyone nibble on the same musical tomato, no matter how you pronounce it. Anyway...my friend has, in his unique way, drilled this song into my head.
