Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall Lyrics

Send "Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall" Ringtone to your Cell

Through the corridors of sleep
Past the shadows dark and deep
My mind dances and leaps in confusion.
I don't know what is real,
I can't touch what I feel
And I hide behind the shield of my illusion.

So I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end,
And flowers never bend
With the rainfall.

The mirror on my wall
Casts an image dark and small
But I'm not sure at all it's my reflection.
I am blinded by the light
Of God and truth and right
And I wander in the night without direction.

So I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end,
And flowers never bend
With the rainfall.

It's no matter if you're born
To play the King or pawn
For the line is thinly drawn 'tween joy and sorrow,
So my fantasy
Becomes reality,
And I must be what I must be and face tomorrow.

So I'll continue to continue to pretend
My life will never end,
And flowers never bend
With the rainfall.

I completely agree, vivers...though I eventually acquired "Parsley" on CD, I had first heard this song on a very crackly LP version. To hear those opening guitar notes in their original medium somehow enhanced the song's beauty. Of all of S&G's recordings, this one really makes me wish I had been alive in the 60's to experience the music of that era and follow it through its many incarnations. My discovery of these songs now is bittersweet…it seems that the anthems of my generation will never be half as brilliant as anything the boys ever did (together or individually). Rock on, Paul and Artie – “when the singer’s gone, let the song go on”…

This isn't one of their better known songs- that is however, the public's loss. It is hopelessly beautiful...God, the word "beautiful" is beginning to lose it's meaning. Let's just put it this way; "Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall" came out in 1966 and almost four decades later it has yet to meet it's equivalent. I still cry every time I hear it...

All times are in Greenwich Mean Time.
