Perhaps the most honest break up song ever!

I heard a rumor that it was written shortly after his break up with Jennifer Love Hewitt...This song seems to point to the fact that they both cheated on each other..."Two wrongs make it all alright tonight..."

I love the part about "so I check the weather where ever you are, cuz I wanna know if you can see the stars tonight, might be my only right.."

Its also hard to admit when its over.

Great song and would have been a brilliant video....but I guess the song was a bit too long and slow for the record company to wanna release as a single...pity!

This song has been my anthem for much over a year now. I first heard it when my boyfriend moved away from me. And it speaks so well for the situations that we get ourselves into. John Is the best songwriter of all time and this one is by far one of his best. I hope he releases it as his next single.

OMGOSH! this is the best song to explan how i feel everyday of my life since my b/f moved and we broke up B/C he said long distance relationships don't work...But I wanted to at least try but I guess he didn't. This is my favorite song out of all of John Mayer's songs. It explains exactly how I feel about a guy I'm dating. He's a big John Mayer fan too. He's going home for the summer, which is 3 hours away [he's in college] and when he comes back for school, I'll be leaving to go to college about 3 hours away from him.

this song was written for me (and about a billion other people it seems) i sit by the phone hoping he'll call (but he doesn't) and i stay home in case he drops by (but he doesn't) and i try and know where he is in case he ever needs me (but i don't think he does) and for some reason, every night when i go to bed, and every morning when i wake up and all through every class of every day and every conversation with my friends, i can't stop thinking of him. Thank God someone like john could finally put all this into the right words!

When I heard this song it about took the words straight out of my mouth. I can't tell you how many endless nights I held the trigger of my telephone right beside me wondering if she'd call and say she'd got her heart right because she knew she had messed up. This is my favorite song on John's new cd. "All you need is love is a lie, cause we had love but we still said goodbye, now were tired battered fighters." How deeper can a guy get than that? I try not to think of her while i sleep in my coat on my porch, its like im the only one sharing a sadness. To make a long story short, I was going to college and we broke it off nice, I got a full scholarship to stay in my hometown and took it, by that time, she already had someone else....which I couldnt believe because we were in "love." Now I just cant move on. I cared about her so much, but i guess we had wonderful times and terrible timing. I cant wait to figure out whats wrong with me. so i can say THIS IS THE WAY THAT I USED TO BE! I miss you britt......

When I first heard the song, I was attracted to the beat, the message of the song is great basically "don't give up on me!" I really like John Mayer-he's good. He always seems to capture the essense of everyday situations...

I agree, best song on the CD in my opinion. Each song has it's own unique message, but this one really touches me at this point in my life. Seems JM can always get me through a tough time, and if not...2Pac will do the job!
