Jumper Lyrics
Send "Jumper" Ringtone to your Cell
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again, I would understand.
I would understand,
The angry boy, a bit too insane,
Icing over a secret pain,
You know you don't belong,
You're the first to fight, You're way too loud,
You're The flash of light, On a burial shroud,
I know something's wrong,
Well everyone I know has got a reason, To say, put the past away,
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies, That you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again, I would understand,
I would understand.
Well he's on the table, And he's gone to code,
And I do not think anyone knows,
What they are doing here,
And your friends have left, You've been dismissed,
I never thought it would come to this, And I, I want you to know,
Everyone's got to face down the demons,
Maybe today, We can put the past away,
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in,
And if you do not want to see me again, I would understand,
I would understand,
I would understand...
Can you put the past away, I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend,
I would understand...

Dude, I love how a lot of people who posted on this song mentioned that they hope no one kills themselves because of it... It's pretty obvious that this is written from the heart of someone begging someone else to reconsider whatever they are doing (suicide, making a just plain bad decision, etc.). If anyone kills themselves because of this song, it's because they didn't understand that the whole point of it is to get some one not to.

orpheus7703 and Adora,
You're both right. The original release of the album had a white cover, but it was later re-released (no content was changed) with the same cover but in a red color.
On a separate note, one of my favorite songs ever. So powerful. It's easy to interpret it as suicide but it's really a plea for anyone making any bad, "suicidal" decision (drugs, etc.)
So powerful.

orpheus7703,
I don't know if 3EB did this but sometimes bands will put out different variations on their album covers...and sometimes one will be seen more [in ads for the album and whatnot] often than the other one. Don't ask me why they do that, I guess because they can't stick with one idea.
Anyway, great song.. .

Man this song rules. Its pretty easy to play on guitar too. This CD is one of my favorites of all time, and I completely agree with Bigmansam - it doesn't necessarily have to be about suicide.

You dont hav to veiw this song being about suicide, It can be simply getting away from everything.
"I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend"
Step back! Dont go!
"You could cut ties with all the lies, that you've been living in,"
Leaving and never looking back, but it dont hav to be suicide

This song isn't necessarily about throwing yourself off of something high. It's about suicide, yes, but the ledge is the symbol used to describe the feeling and the action of actually killing yourself. No matter how it's done, suicide is a ledge that suicidal people get closer and closer to until the point where they actually jump, regardless of how it takes place. (Gun, pills, train, etc.)
Regardless, it's a good song, and 3EB is awesome.

m not suicidal, but I love this song. I would have to say, however, that the greatest song about suicide is Naveed by Our Lady Peace. Go check out the lyrics. Saying Goodbye by Sugarcult is god too. Anyway, 3EB is a ggod band ROCK ON!

I personally think this is a good song, but I would never think of killing myself by jumping off a ledge or, even thought the of KILLING myself is ubsured,I hope none of the people that listen to this song kill themselves. JK
