Sunday Bloody Sunday Lyrics
Send "Sunday Bloody Sunday" Ringtone to your Cell

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes
And make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? How long...
cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...
Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? How long...
cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...tonight...
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Oh, wipe your blood shot eyes
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
The real battle just begun
To claim the victory Jesus won
On...
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Sunday Bloody Sunday...

Or whoever the fuck that idiot below me was babbling about.
I remember the video from the early days of MTV, there's a part where someone reaches out fo the crowd and grabs Bono's ass, it kind of killed the seriousness of the moment.
Watch carefully, it's only about a second or two that they show it.

I've seen the film "Bloody Sunday" last night and now I can connect the song of U2 with the things that have happened that day.
Thanx to U2 for always being critical!

Ah what can I say about Ireland. It exports only the best. U2, Sinead O'Connor, The Cranberries, Lucky Charms, Guiness, Cable-knit sweaters, and Saint Patty's Day (the biggest drinking holiday next to New Year's Eve)

This is a brilliant song... one of my favourite U2 songs! The lyrics are so powerful, even if you have no idea what it's about.

there were 2 bloody sundays, one at an all ireland gaelic final and the other in the early 70s, both were days when innocent happy people were viciously murdered while having fun. le cunamh de, ni bheidh a leithead arist ann. this song live at slane 2000 was the best few moments of my life-electric...

Wonderous song. I know that the lyrics are really powerful, but the melody and beat are really great too. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but this song frickin' rocks!

My absolute favorite U2 song of all. I actually took the time to research the Bloody Sunday Massacre and the bombing at Enneskillen so I could understand the song a little better. Of course, it can really apply to nearly anything involving killing going on in the world today.

wow, this song is nothing short of amazing, this is without a doubt the greatest song of all time. The live version is so powerful it will bring a tear to your eye. I cannot begin to explain how amazing the whole song is, the lyrics are so meaningful and touching, after studying the troubles in Ireland this song means even more to me, highly recommended to anyone who likes good music. other u2 songs which are great are basically anyything from the 80's, even though i wasnt alive when these were written i can still appreciate the brilliance of classics such as new years day, all i want is you, with or without you and i still havnt found what im looking for. i am lucky enough to see u2 this summer and cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xxx xxx

This song is so powerful, it almost brings tears to my eyes. It makes you think about the world, especially now with all that's happened. You can apply it's message to so many places. Northern Ireland, Israel, 9/11...give peace a chance.

I love this song by U2. It is so meaningful and reminds me of my ex-boyfriend Sean who was killed in the troubles in 1991 aged 21.
Love and miss you always Sean.

I highly recommend the live version from "Under a Blood Red Sky" It is by far the best and most powerful version. Accept no substitutes...and if you get the chance read about the Bloody Sunday Massacre in Belfast of peaceful protesters by angry British troops.
