This is my favorite song of All-Time! I was dead when I first heard this song -- had just returned to the States after serving in the Marine Corp -- and had resolved to never being able to feel again. But this song has stayed in my head for a year and a half and now I have evolved.

This song took me back to the way I felt about music when I was a kid!

Grohl's lyrics are so beautiful that so many people can get so many different things from them and since the belief in a Higher Power and taking drugs are so closely related the amorphous lyrics form an interstice.

I'm a violent person but I'm a good Catholic and being German-Irish could present a threat to the Protestant status but I'm one of the good ones the Priests got a hold of at an early age -- and let somebody make a caustic statement toward the Church there, I'll FUCKING Find you -- and I think Dave is too.

You can't escape Catholicsm. Why would you want to? I'm the greatest writer of all-time and I love everybody (my editor is Jewish). The only problems I run into are Evangelicals and when its time to step outside and battle I say the "Hail Mary" and then sing this song, blackout and take care of my adversaries.

Guess what?

This story is really sweet.... My mum's friend got married, and her bro sang this song at the party afterwards. He wasn't all that good, lolz, but he said afterwards that it was sad he'd never see his sis again, coz her husband lived in America and she was moving there to be with him.

You see, the only thing that really matters in a song is whether you can relate to it or not. My boyfreind whom is my first real love that I adored so much just told me that he's fallen out of love with me and he likes this other chick. Therefore I can relate and that's all that matters. Songs are meant to alter your mood and if you think it's overplayed than just don't listen to it.
