How's It Going To Be Lyrics

I'm only pretty sure that I can't take anymore
Before you take a swing
I wonder what are we fighting for
When I say out loud
I want to get out of this
I wonder is there anything
I'm going to miss
I wonder how it's going to be
When you don't know me
How's it going to be
When you're sure I'm not there
How's it going to be
When there's no one there to talk to
Between you and me
Cause I don't care
How's it going to be
How's it going to be
Where we used to laugh
There's a shouting match
Sharp as a thumbnail scratch
A silence I can't ignore
Like the hammock by the
Doorway we spent time in swings empty
Don't see lightning like last fall
When it was always about to hit me
I wonder how's it going to be
When it goes down
How's it going to be
When you're not around
How's it going to be
When you found out there was nothing
Between you and me
Cause I don't care
How's it going to be
And how's it going to be
When you don't know me anymore
And how's it going to be
Wanna kill myself like he did yeah
The soft dive of oblivion
I want to taste the salt of your skin
The soft dive of oblivion oblivion
How's it going to be
When you don't know me anymore
How's it going to be
How's it going to be
How's it going to be

my girlfriend has been into drugs in the past, but i dont really like that kind of thing...so i told my girlfriend that i didnt want her to do drugs...and she said that she couldnt stand me trying to control her life...and that was it. its over. i loved her, and i thought she loved me. this song i can really relate to. though i wish i couldnt...

When i hear this song i get a similar, but different perspective of the song. In this day and age, war is constantly upon us. Today when i hear this song, it doesnt remind me of a girlfriend or a friend. It reminds me of war, and the tragedys and loses of war. I think that is what todays life has turned us all into. To think that when some of these comments were posted a few years ago, pre 9-11. We never had to worry about these things. All we had to worry about was getting home in time to watch friends, and make sure theres enough jelly to make a sandwich in the afternoon. Now we cant even step outside without the thought of the building we're in blowing up, or if the guy in front of me in the bank has a gun.
It's a sad world we live in today.

I lose friends faster than I make them ... and I don't care to make more. Lovers I've hardly known ... so I'll stick to being alone. And disappointment will spare us both.

One of, if not my favorite songs, I could listen to it forever, This whole album for that matter

This song is half about losing a friendship and at, and the other half is about a lost love. It serves a dual purpose, which is only one reason why i think this is a great song. "I wanna taste the salt of your skin." Definitely not just a friend. And if u think about it, a lost love is like losing your best friend. I've recently gone through a rough breakup. With that girl for 2 and 1/2 years of my life, and the it was the best time i could remember. I still get sad thinking that she just freaked out and left cuz we were so young. But maybe after she grows a little she'll realize what she's lost. "How's it gonna be, when you found out there was nothing, between you and me, cuz I don't care." It's sad, and hard to deal with, but it's over...

I listened to this song about twelve thousand times on the night I broke up with my boyfriend. It helped to realize how stupid I was and that I was gonna lose my best friend and how much it was gonna hurt when he didn't "know me anymore." The pain was too much, so I walked over to his house at 1 in the morning and made everything alright. I've never been more grateful to a song.

How true this song is, it came out when our relationship started, we listened to this song 100's of times, little did I know it was defining our relationship in the future, it just took six and half years to get there.

Didn't realize how old this song is. It's so good.

Ahhh, shitty High School memories, so glad that part of life is over.

this has got to be one of the most truest and saddest songs when you think about it. this song is so deep. everyone, no matter who you are, will relate to this song. we all have someone that we probably loved or cared about so much and then lost them. this song is already related to me. i lost someone that i really loved because of a stupid mistake and i can't ever take it back. i used to listen to this song when we were in love and i didn't really understand it, but now.. i know exactly how it's going to be when they left. :-(

This song reminds me of Camp. Power to all those Canterbury hills campers and Leaders and LIT's out there. I love Canterbury Hills cAmp!

love this song, even if it is about friendship, it explains my relationship (or lack thereof) with my "boyfriend" almost perfectly. I definitely think its one of their best.
handsome devil 24/04/2004 07:21:23
this is a great song. i agree that it's about losing a friendship more then a love but in my case i lost both my love and my best friend.

Third Eye Blind is my all time favorite band, and this is one of my all time favorite songs. I love the deep lyrics, and the beat rocks my world. I recommend everyone pick up their newest CD "Out of the Vein". It rocks my world!

This is one of those songs I like but I dont like. I like the honesty and the truth in it. But I hate t because it makes you think of your friendships and how they come and go.
dixiesoftball16 08/04/2003 19:17:51
The best I've heard from them. Amazingly honest and relative to all relationships
Iamthebear 28/02/2003 15:16:50
Easily one of their best. I hear it and it makes me think of my relationships over and over. Ugh... Songs that can do that to you are very powerful and those are the ones you NEVER forget.

This song is a wake up call for a relationship. It is hard hitting and as serious as it gets. Good lyrics!!!
