This song inspires me in so many ways, musically, and how to live life really.
And some people on here need to grow up, im not going to say anything cause i don't want to get caught up in this, so dont get me.
I'm just saying,some people need to not shove their foot in somebodys face, and point there nose where they dont belong. I shoudlnt be saying this cause i do that a lot. But, at least now im noticing it.

"no such thing" it inspires me.. something bout hiz soft voice.. brings out his image.. his vintage t-shirts and courduroy pants.. his tousseled hair.. his carefree eyes.. no im not fourteen.. im actually also a senior.. and after trying to seriously concentrate on studying.. i forgot to take it ez.. i dun care too much of wat u negative pplz say about john mayer.. he's an amazing artist.. u can hate all you want.. its your opinion.. but among the other people who've responded.. i agree with them.. if u dun have nething good to say.. dont' say it.. jus cuz u have personal issues.. doestn' mean other people will care about you or what u have to b** about.. newayz.. the message of the song.. yea.. speaks for itself.. "they love to tell you 'stay inside the lines' but somethings better on the other side.." n i like the part.. To all the people who say negative stuff about this song-
All the people saying this music is bad should keep their opinion to their selves. If you don’t like it that’s your choice but don’t be saying crap to other people if they do. They aren’t going to care what u say! your someone they don’t know and will never meet so do u really think that someone will change the way they feel about a song because of what u say? You don’t need to say the shit you do. So next time your looking to say bad stuff about someone, don’t!! because no1 is going to care and just because u feel the music sucks doesn’t mean other people have to! Get a life and post things about the music u do like. Why are you even looking up lyrics to a song u don’t like? I have to say that’s really stupid. You should be looking up the lyrics to songs you do like and post good stuff about it, and then when you read the bad stuff about the music you like you will know how the rest of us feel, all you do is piss people off here maybe thats what you want to do, but its not gonna get you any where. It’s really annoying that someone would have so much effort just to say one stupid thing about the music, because no1 will change their opinion you’re just going to piss off the fans, other then that no one is going to fucking care what you say!! so like I said before, get a life and leave the rest of us alone! yeah i'm almost 15 and i'm doin my gcse's in england and yeah i wanna do well so i can get into a good 6th form and university but i totally agree with this song that you gotta have sum fun in ur life and if u don't your just gonna be sooooo boring, be urself for goodness sake. i mean if u wanna work all the time go ahead and do it but don't expect me to.

As a senior in high school, I can definitely relate to this song. I wish more people would understand that high school is only four very insignificant years of your life. I can't stand being stuck in that building any longer, and I certainly would love to run through the halls of my high school and scream at the top of my lungs. Because it completely sucks ass. So children, just remember, there is a great life waiting for you out there. Have a nice day.

I'm in 6th form college + school can neva prepare u 4 college. This is a gr8 song - but i have to say i think u should "stay inside the lines" and take the right track.
i'm 14 from the UK and never got into trouble @ school, EVER. i'm coming up to my GCSE'S and work really really hard to acheive the very best.
i'm not gonna mess around and ruin every chance i've got.
the way i see it is that my GCSE'S r the key to my future and if i screw them up, well frankly i've messed up my whole life.
i don't mean to say that that is what the song is saying.......i'm not actually totally sure what it means, i'm only a kid,
but hey.....thought i'd post this anyway.

I loved this from the first time I heard it, I'm not 14 anymore and I consider myself fairly intelligent. I belive that you don't get anywere being negative, sure critisims is always good... as long as it's constructive... you know, usefull.
When I hear this song my mood changes from good to better, okay it's not espacially deep or profound... But it's got that "I love just being alive" vibe. I can relate, things are expected of you when you're in school, you gotta make something of yourself. And maybe no one believes in you, but you're gonna prove them wrong... someday you'll show them. That's the feeling I had leaving school... Now though I couldn't care less what anybody thinks, but being a teenager can be harsh, beyond not-understanding parents. Some have it easy, others.. not so much.
Sometimes there's no need to be deep, truth can be spoken in few well selected words.
