Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics
Send "Bohemian Rhapsody" Ringtone to your Cell

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide,
No escape from reality.
Open your eyes, Look up to the skies and see,
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy,
Because I'm easy come, easy go, Little high, little low,
Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me.
Mama just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead.
Mama, life had just begun,
But now I've gone and thrown it all away.
Mama, ooh, Didn't mean to make you cry,
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,
Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters.
Too late, my time has come,
Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time.
Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go,
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.
Mama, ooh, I don't want to die,
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all.
I see a little silhouetto of a man,
Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango.
Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very fright'ning me.
(Galileo.) Galileo. (Galileo.) Galileo, Galileo figaro
Magnifico. I'm just a poor boy nobody loves me.
He's just a poor boy from a poor family,
Spare him his life from this monstrosity.
Easy come, easy go, will you let me go.
Bismillah! No, we will not let you go.
(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go.
(Let him go!) Bismillah! We will not let you go.
(Let me go.) Will not let you go.
(Let me go.) Will not let you go. (Let me go.) Ah.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
(Oh mama mia, mama mia.) Mama mia, let me go.
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me.
So you think you can stop me and spit in my eye.
So you think you can love me and leave me to die.
Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby,
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here.
Nothing really matters,
Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters,
Nothing really matters to me.
Any way the wind blows.

I always thought it was "Beelzebub has the devil put a sock on me, on me, on me"... Guess I was way off base on that one.

In high school, me and 17 other people all lip-synced to Bohemian Rhapsody at the talent show XD IT was amazing... for the beginning part and the ballad, we had two people up on the stage in tuxedos and top hats lip-syncing and getting all emotional, and then we had someone run out with a toy guitar for the solo... then for the opera section we had one of the two guys with hats (unfortunately, that guy was me) to act as the "poor boy" while we had people on either side doing the "Let him go!" part... then we all started getting all excited on the "to meeeeee!" and when the metal part kicked in, we all threw off our hats and started to head-bang (in tribute to Wayne's World) and stripped down to baggy jeans and wife beaters... it was incredible, we won first prize XD Anyway, this song defines what music really means... Queen will always be a major staple in the rock business... the legacy of Freddie Mercury lives on!!!!!

My dad said that Freddy was a former Muslim. And "bismillah" means "In the name of Allah". It's true, cuz i'm a Muslim. But I don't think that Freddy M. has the right to say that because he WAS a Muslim. I think.

I saw Queen and Freddy M. in concert in St. Louis way back when. We ALL waited (forever) for the gong. When it happened, I remeber Bic Lighters burned for what seemed light hours.

Oh, by the way, in the chorus it's "Bismillah," not "miss miller."
Also, in the line starting "So you think..." it's "stone" rather than "stop."

Soooo awesooooooome...
Several different song styles all at once makes Bohemian Rhapsody exactly what it's reputed to be. Queen, you win.

My brother has two best friends. Lucas and Joe. One day they were coming home from the 4th Harry Potter movie with Lucas in the middle, and Joe and Taylor, (my brother) on either side of him. The radio was on, and this song started playing. Taylor and Joe started singing along, and Joe's mom, the driver, turned up the radio. Taylor ad Joe got louder and louder as the radio did, and now Lucas hates that song. A sad but awfully funny truth.

i'm 16 years old and i go to coventry high school in Rhode Island. we have a rock radio station that plays locally (91.5 WCVY) anyway, when ever we play this me and my friends always sing the parts and i always end up headbangin' at that one part... Wayne's World basically made it a federal law that you must do that...

Many fans and music writers have speculated that the bohemian "poor boy" is really Freddie Mercury; and the song is about Mercury's homosexuality and his struggles with AIDS. (Note the many references to death that appear throughout the song.) However, the song was recorded in 1975, roughly six years before the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic in 1981 and sixteen years before Mercury's own death in 1991.

I recently saw Queen in concert, which of course was awesome!
There were actually a couple of tribute songs to Freddy, but this was the most moving in my opinion. The band played and Freddy sang on the huge screen behind the stage.
Part of the footage was from the Live-Aid concert back in the 90s when he sang this song to the world ...and the world knew he was dying of AIDS. :(
>> Too late, my time has come,
>> Sends shivers down my spine, body's aching all the time.
>> Goodbye, ev'rybody, I've got to go,
>> Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.
>> Mama, ooh, I don't want to die,
>> I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all. "
Wow, how do you sing this to the world knowing you will be dead soon? What an amazing artist and performer!

The sogn was written about 1975 or so, long before anyone knew of AIDS or that Freddie had it.
It's based on an opera, from an album Queen did called A Night At The Opera all featuring songs based on operas.
It was Queens version of Tommy, The Who's famous rock opera.

I wonder if Freddie wrote this song about himself due to the fact that he was dying of AIDS?
